In 1998 the bank started as urban co-operative bank to provide the banking services in district Muzaffarnagar and this year celebrated 25 years of successful banking.
In the year 1997, Lt Seth Shree Bhumesh Kumar Paliwal (founder of the bank) and Shri Naresh Kumar Paliwal (founder chairman) thought to open a bank to develop the habit of savings and to cater to the financial needs of middle-class people, small business enterprises, and weaker sections of society.
Our The Ganga Mercantile Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd Muzaffarnagar came into existence on 04 June 1998 registered as an urban co-operative bank with the Registrar Cooperative Societies Saharanpur under UP Cooperative Societies Act 1965, and Reserve Bank of India had given a license to carry out the banking business in the urban/semi-urban area of District Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
At present, the bank has four branches which are effectively controlled and managed by an efficient & qualified board of directors under the chairmanship of Shree Naresh Kumar Paliwal (ex-chairman of District Co-operative Bank Muzaffarnagar) and (ex-chairman of Nagar Palika Khatauli District Muzaffarnagar).
The day-to-day work is managed by the secretary Smt. Shiva Gupta with the support of a dedicated team/staff members.
